Optical Sensors – precise measurement technology

Optical sensors are advanced and precise components that use light to detect objects and convert them into electrical signals. They are the key technology in modern industrial sensor technology and are indispensable in numerous areas.

So how does an optical sensor work?
A beam of light (infrared or laser) is sent from a transmitter to a receiver. If there is an interruption, the sensor emits a precise switching signal or a distance value. Depending on the type of sensor, the transmitter and receiver are located in the same component (sensor head) or consist of two sensors, one with a transmitter function and one with a receiver function.
